HistoryIn 1897, George Frederick Colton was trying to find gold in that area. He said that a person would need a searchlight to find any gold there. Not long after that, he found gold. The area had a population bigger than Las Vegas and they named it Searchlight. In 1917, Searchlight went downhill but was still a great attraction on one of the main highways in Nevada. When a new highway was built, in 1927, the towns population decreased to only 50. DescriptionSearchlight is now home to many different styles of houses, condos, mobile homes, and apartments. You can find a home in any style that is for rent. There are many different home rentals all over Searchlight.
