HistoryLas Vegas was discovered by the Spanish and quickly became a stopping point on the Spanish Trail to California because it had natural springs that bubbled up throughout the valley. It was settled between 1855 and 1900 by farmers and pioneers. North Las Vegas was incorporated in 1946 because of Nellis Air force Base. DescriptionThe majority of North Las Vegas lies to the North of all the hotels and casinos on the strip and to the northwest of Nellis Air Force Base and south of the Sheep Mountain range. Although North Las Vegas was incorporated in 1946, ¾ of the town was built after 1990. For many years North Las Vegas rental homes catered only to the military. Now this is not the case. North Las Vegas is close to golf courses such as Aliante and Silverstone. People who live in North Las Vegas consider Aliante Station Casino to be their neighborhood entertainment center for movies and adult games. |
